Is it free?

Yes. No account, no subscription and no ad network. Now and then a featured show may sit at the top of Home, and it's always marked Sponsored.

Which shows are in here?

Podcasts about ghosts, hauntings, Bigfoot, Dogman, cryptids, UFOs and military encounters. The list is checked every week, and dead shows drop off. You can browse the full list on Encounter Atlas.

A show I like is missing. Can you add it?

Probably. Email hello@encounteratlas.com with the show's name and a link. If it fits, it goes in with the next weekly update.

How do downloads work?

Tap the download arrow on any episode, or "Download newest 5" on a show page. In Settings you can keep downloads to Wi-Fi only, have new episodes from shows you follow download on their own, and have played episodes delete themselves. Downloaded episodes play with no signal.

How do I add the home-screen widget?

In the app, go to Library, then Settings, and tap Add the player widget. Or long-press your home screen, tap Widgets and find Haunted Airwaves. If Android has closed the app in the background, tapping Play on the widget opens it and carries on where you left off.

Can I control it from the lock screen?

Yes. While an episode is playing you get play/pause, a progress bar and 15-second skips back and forward on the lock screen and in your notifications.

I closed the player by accident.

Tap Undo on the little bar that pops up. Even after that's gone, your place is saved: find the episode under Library, Recently played, and tap play.

Is there a sleep timer?

Yes. Open the full player and tap Sleep timer. You can stop after a set time or at the end of the episode.

Is there an iPhone version?

It's on its way. The Android app is out now on Google Play.

Where's my data?

On your phone. Your follows, queue, history and downloads never leave it, and uninstalling the app deletes all of it. The details are in the privacy policy.

I make a podcast. How do I get featured?

Listing is free. A featured spot puts your show at the top of Home and its topic for a week, marked Sponsored. Email hello@encounteratlas.com for dates and prices.
